Easter Lilies from Elegant Bird Die

Reminder:  It is the last day to take advantage of Sale-a-bration and the opportunity to receive Free stamps, paper, or other products. You have until 11:50 pm Mt. time. I can't believe March is almost over!

I don't have a Sale-a-bration card to show you today. Instead I have an Easter card. I have been busy today, making my cards so I can mail them on Monday. This one will not get mailed but will be hand delivered. I don't want it to get crushed.
I used the Elegant Bird Bigz die for the Easter lilies! Actually, I only used the tail but still.

I was inspired by those lilies you make by tracing your child's hand and then cutting it out, etc.
Here is a link for a visual in case you don't know what I mean . http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/handprint-lilies-675224/
I love Family Fun magazine but that is going down a rabbit trail as my husband is apt to tell me when I get off the subject at hand. Ha Ha. No pun intended there.

After I die cut the tails only, I sponged the insides with Pear Pizzazz and drew a fine line on each "petal" with a Pear Pizzazz marker. Then I rolled them to form a lily and added a small piece of Daffodil Delight ribbon for the stamen. I kept each flower closed with glue dots. Lastly I wrapped each flower with Pear Pizzazz seam binding ribbon.

Now the cross is another story. The idea for this cross, which is brilliant by the way, originated with Dawn Olchefske. You can see the original (video) Here. Cool huh?

Here are the supplies.

Kindness Matters hopefully not one last time

Only today and tomorrow are left to take advantage of Sale-a-bration so I made one more card using a Sale-a-bration stamp set. It is actually a set in the Idea Book and Catalog but it can be had for Free with a $50 order. Kindness Matters is one of the first stamp sets I purchased when it first arrived on the scene. I love the little butterflies in this set and because it contains my most often used sentiment - i.e. Thanks, I can make a thank you card fairly quickly.

And once again I used the Sale-a-bration designer paper, Everyday Enchantment. I will truly miss this designer paper because it contains several of my favorite colors. Oh well, Stampin' Up! will be coming out with more designer paper in the new catalog and I am sure I will find lots to love!

All supplies are Stampin' Up! Click Here if you would like to place an order.

Elementary Elegance One Last Time

March 31st - this coming Saturday. What is so significant about that date? The last day of March equals the last day of Sale-a-bration which means it is the last day to take advantage of free stuff!

So because this will be the last week I thought I would tempt you a few more times!
I love Poppy Parade and was so happy to see it incorporated into the Everyday Enchantment sale-a-bration designer paper. For this card, I used the sale-a-bration set, Elementary Elegance for the focal image. I didn't embellish it because I wanted the beauty of the stamp set and paper to speak for itself.

Easter Cross

I finally had a chance to stamp! I figured I better make some Easter cards since it is less than 2 weeks away.

Today's card was meant to be clean and simple but I ended up adding the Label Framelit diecut and the diecut Doily to highlight the cross.

These felt crosses are what inspired me.
I used 2 punches to make the crosses: Blossom Punch (Occasions Mini) and Blossom Petals Builder Punch It was just a matter of snipping and gluing. I played around with a couple of colors but ended up with Elegant Eggplant and So Saffron. Easter is when I miss Barely Banana and Lavender Lace the most. I just tend to gravitate to those colors for Easter.

All supplies are Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Easter Dove - Occasions Mini
Cardstock: Whisper White, So Saffron, Elegant Eggplant, Certainly Celery
Ink: Elegant Eggplant Marker
Other: Big Shot, Labels Framelit Die, Paper Doily Sizzlit die, Corner punch, Blossoms Punch (Occasions Mini), Blossoms Petals Builder Punch, Large Pearl (Occasions Mini), Elegant Eggplant Ribbon, Dimensionals

And that's it for today! Thanks for stopping.

My Weekend and a Card

I just came back from a wonderful visit with my daughters in Ohio! And it was such a "God thing". I found out last week from a friend, that Cedarville University was sending a bus to my hometown to pick up some prospective students. My 3 daughters graduated from CU and chose to live in the area (30 minutes from the University). So I saw this as a chance to visit them! I checked with the college and yes, there was room on the bus for me, and yes, I could join the group even tho I was not visiting the college! Woo Hoo!! So I paid the fee and rode 14 hours (we made multiple stops to pick up other kids) each way to spend 2 days with the girls. Totally worth it! I got to see my daughter's wedding dress. We shopped for, and found, bridesmaid dresses. We got to go to church together where I was able to hear my oldest daughter lead worship. And best of all we got to laugh, eat, and play together! I am so very thankful that I was able to go, that Cedarville U. allowed me to go,  and all 3 girls were free that weekend! We LOVED being all together again.

I haven't stamped since coming home, but I do have another Stampin Addicts Birthday swap to show you.

It is a card that was inspired by a swap I received from fellow Control Freak Swapper, Patty Bennett. I love her style.

Pony Party

I have another Stampin Addicts Birthday swap to show you today. It is perfect for a little girl especially if she likes ponies or unicorns!

And I didn't have to use my paper cutter to make the towers and roofs. I just used square punches to do all the work.
It is a little hard to see, but the door was embossed with the Stripes embossing folder.
Open the castle doors and see the unicorn waiting inside! You can also get a better idea of where and how I punched the towers.

All supplies are Stampin' Up!

Simple St. Patrick's Day Card

Do you need a quick St. Patrick's Day card? This may help.
I used Whisper White cardstock for the base and added some zigzag stripes made with cardstock and the Tasteful Trim Bigz die. I love the trendy look of Chevron stripes so these zigzags are my spur of the moment substitution.

To make the shamrock I used the Scallop Circle Punch and trimmed it to look like a shamrock. Then I just creased each petal and added a Glimmer Brad to the center. The stem was punched with the Large Oval Punch. Super easy!

I originally stamped the sentiment directly to the cardstock by wouldn't you know it, I stamped it crooked. I had already glued the zigzags so I was not about to start over. Instead, I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of cardstock, punched it out and layered right over my mistake. That is a great way to rescue a project.

By the way - the designer paper is from the Sale-a-bration pack of Everyday Enchantment dsp. It is one of the Free choices with a $50 purchase! And don't forget, Sale-a-bration ends March 31st. It's coming soon!

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Everyday Enchantment - Sale-a-bration
Cardstock: Whisper White, Garden Green, Lucky Limeade
Ink: Garden Green
Other: Big Shot, Tasteful Trim Bigz die, Scallop Circle Punch, Large Oval Punch, Glimmer Brad

Masculine Birthday

Today's card is another Stampin Addicts Birthday Swap and fits into the category of masculine. See yesterday's post for feminine.

Before you go dismissing this card because you think it is too difficult or because it involves watercoloring, bear with me.

It was actually easy to do and I will explain the process.
1. Stamp the image from Countryside stamp set, and the Sincere Salutations sentiment with Black Stazon ink on Naturals Ivory cardstock. If you haven't tried this cardstock it is a wonderful choice for masculine or nature or rustic cards. And cheap!
2. Add water to the top 2/3 of the card with an Aquapainter. It is ok if there are bare spots.
3. Add Not Quite Navy reinker around the edges with a watercolor brush. Allow the color to float around.
4. Add Crumb Cake reinker to the truck and ground with a clean watercolor brush.
Remember: it is ok if the colors blend or go outside/inside the lines.
5. Allow to dry. I used a heat tool to speed it up.
6. Tear some Crumb Cake cardstock to resemble the ground. Sponge the edges.
7. Layer and tie the Early Espresso Baker's Twine. Then layer to card front.
8. Add splatter with a Basic Black Marker and Color Spritzer Tool.

You can do this, you really can!

Stamps: Countryside, Sincere Salutations
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Not Quite Navy, Naturals Ivory
Ink: Not Quite Navy and Crumb Cake reinker; Black Stazon, Basic Black Marker
Other: Aquapainter, Water color Brush, Color Spritzer Tool, Early Espresso Baker's Twine

Thanks for stopping! And just a reminder - Sale-a-bration is still going strong! Don't forget to take advantage of this fabulous sale before it is too late.

Field Flowers Feminine Birthday

Well, I have been on vacation for a week but I am back now. We were able to get away to some sunshine, warm (hot) weather and the beach! Best of all, our daughters flew down and joined us so we all spent a week together and had a relaxing time. It was fabulous!

Even though I am back, I haven't been able to find time to stamp. In the meantime, I thought I could show you some of my swaps that I made for a recent Stampin Addicts birthday swap.

Each swap card was designated for a particular category such as girl, boy, feminine, masculine or general. This particular card was my feminine birthday card swap. There is an overlay of Vellum Cardstock on the focal image which gives it a softer look.

Before I stamped the flower, I die cut the cardstock and vellum cardstock with with Labels Framelit. I find it easier to cut first, stamp second. To attach the vellum to the cardstock, I added a little bit of adhesive to the vellum where I knew the sentiment would cover it. Also, the brads keep it firmly in place as well. It is so worth the extra effort!

Stamps: Field Flowers, Petite Pairs
Paper: Elegant Eggplant from the Regals Collection pack
Cardstock: Vellum, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder
Other: Big Shot, Labels Framelits, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Brads, oval punch, scallop oval punch, Eyelet Border punch

Outlined Occasions

I have had this card hanging around for a while now. I was going to use it in the Stampin Addicts Sale-a-bration Blog Hop back in January but changed my mind. The colors aren't my favorite even though I took them from the Twitterpated dsp in the Occasions Mini. But I do like the layout and the stars so I thought I would share it today.

It is kind of masculine thanks to the colors, although I don't know if guys would appreciate the bling. To create the red rhinestones, I just colored some Basic Rhinestones with a Sharpie. It is pretty easy to do!

All supplies are Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Outlined Occasions - Sale-a-bration
Paper: Twitterpated dsp- Occasions Mini
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Island Indigo, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Ink: Black Stazon, Basic Gray, Island Indigo
Other: Big Shot, Stars Bigz die, Basic Rhinestones, Circle Punch, Ticket Corner punch

Have a great day!
